Led by Danny Malu, GTS is built on a hybrid of codes, with a deep passion for rugby union’s wider vision, strategy, and variation, and rugby league’s simplicity, physicality, and athleticism. With a strong interest in research and influences from other contact sports like boxing and wrestling, we bring a genuine passion for collision to the environment — with a clear belief that collision is a skillset, just like any other.
We spend time on the basics and do them properly. That means real detail around what happens before contact, through contact, and after contact. Tackle is treated as a skillset — we coach tracking, footwork into contact, body position, chop and top technique, hip power, leg drive, and the ability to finish and get back to work.
We also touch on the wider contact picture — including ball carry and breakdown — as add-ons around our tackle focus, helping players understand both sides of the collision.
